Let us love, since that is all our heart were made for.
-St. Therese de Lisieux
I have putting off blogging this beautiful wedding because in all honesty I didn’t want to say goodbye to these images often once I have blogged a wedding and sent the photographs across to their new home it is one of the last times I get to ponder over them and take to time look at every detail.
Myself and Faye love this wedding not just because of its phenomenal beauty but because of the people and their connection with the destination in which they choose. Natalie and Mark contacted me after seeing my work on my much favoured wedding blog Once Wed and after many transatlantic Skype conversations picked us Taylor Barnes Photography to photograph their nuptials on the breath-taking island of Ischia. I had the pleasure of watching Natalie’s ideas develop and it amazing to see it all tied together so well on the wedding day. I’m sure it was easy to bring all the elements together especially planning from so far away but it sure paid off.
The castello where they held the wedding was very exclusive only choosing to do two weddings a year ran by siblings this venue was kept impeccably and the views where ones you would never forget… a perfect setting to marry the love of your life! Made even more special as Natalie’s late grandparents where married on the island bringing a different type of connection to the place, carrying on the tradition of getting married on the island.
The day was kept simple and was filled with Italian elements from the stunningly foraged floral arrangements to appetising food, it made our job pleasurable and effortless. With beautiful natural light and a spectacular colour pallet it was easy to photograph the wedding on film.
We used three different camera systems shooting predominantly on my Mamiya 645 and Nikon F100 and supplementing with our Nikon D700 when needed. We where so pleased with the way the camera interpreted the light during the day as we look back through its almost like we where there!
I hope you enjoy looking through the images… please leave any comments below in the box provided.
Its safe to say we LOVE this wedding! And we enjoyed blogging and sharing our photographs with everyone via Facebook, instagram and will be adding a select few to out galleries on our main site too. If you would like to see images from Natalie and Mark’s engagement session and other musings of Italy please look back through of achieves.
If you are planning a destination wedding please do not hesitate to get in touch we are limiting our number of weddings greatly over 2015 to pursue other personal projects so their is limited space left to book. We thank all of our couples and their families for booking us and choosing us to document such a momentous occasion we truly love our jobs!
